NOTHING PORTABLE SPEAKER DESIGN CONCEPT
Personal design project based on the design language of the brand NOTHING.
Nothing Sound is a meticulously designed portable speaker, structured to emulate the form of a book. It's been created with the visual language of the brand "NOTHING" in mind. Its aesthetic is intentionally chic, a fashionable accessory designed for portability and practicality, easily accommodating various bag dimensions.
The final design presents a unique aesthetic, not compromising on portability. The inspiration derived from a book's form is intentional, as books are a common companion for many on their journeys. Therefore, the aspiration is that "Nothing Sound" will be as ubiquitously present as books are, accompanying its owner in a myriad of contexts and situations.
Controls are seamlessly integrated into the design through a rotary knob on the speaker's top, allowing for intuitive interaction such as volume adjustment, power on/off, and Bluetooth connectivity. Enhancing the user experience, Glyph LEDs are incorporated, programmed to interact dynamically with the music. If desired, these can also be deactivated for a more subtle experience.
DESIGN PROCESS
During the early stage, the fousus is on what and how would NOTHING release their next product. The brand aims to integrate technology into our lives while maintaining its sense of fun and enjoyment. From their past product releases, it can be seen that their products have a pursuit of uniqueness, self-expression, fassion and a style that is almost geeky in nature.
The brand started with headphones and has released three models of Bluetooth headphones. It can be assumed that they have a certain foundation in sound technology. Therefore, a portable speaker could be a good entry point for them. It not only serves as an interesting technological product but also allows individuals to showcase their personal style during group gatherings.
